The BinAural Collaborative Hypertext (BACH) is software that integrates musical scores with audio and commentary on the Web. This software is served in two Shockwave movies: the BACH Player and the BACH Authoring Tool. Both require the "full" version (not the "slim") of Shockwave® Player 11. Click here to see if you have Shockwave. If that page does not load properly then go to Adobe's Web Players Download Page and get the "full" version of Shockwave Player.
This site is best viewed in Firefox.
Intel Mac users GOOD NEWS! In March of 2008 Adobe released a universal version of Shockwave (identified as Shockwave Player 11). Download it and you'll no longer need to open your browser in Rosetta mode. However, to play this site ALL USERS (including Windows OS) will need to download the "full" version of Shockwave (Adobe's download site defaults to the "Slim"). Note that these movies are still playable in Shockwave 10 "full." However, if you use Shockwave 10 on an Intel Mac, you'll need to continue opening your browser in Rosetta.
If you've been playing these movies in Shockwave 10 with your browser in Rosetta, I recommend that you don't change anything until I've had a chance to identify and work out the bugs in Shockwave 11. This is especially true for developers, those of you who've been using the BACH authoring tool. If you are just playing the movies (not authoring content), and you'd like to try Shockwave 11, here's how to perform the update:
1. Go to Adobe's Web Players Download Page.
2. Download the "full installer" for Shockwave Player 11
for your operating system. The download will include an
"Uninstall " button that I recommend you execute before
installing the new version of Shockwave Player.
Having downloaded Shockwave 11, you'll no longer need to open your browser in Rosetta. If you've been running your browser in Rosetta mode, here's how to deselect that option:
1. Quit your browser and open your applications folder.
2. Click on your browser icon ONCE.
3. Pull down the "File" menu to "Get Info."
4. Click the "General" drop-down list and DESELECT
"open using Rosetta."
